Hello, I'm new

I am here checking this place out. I am currently shooting with a 2000 rebel but should be getting a 20D in September. I am anxious to switch over to digital but I'm also a bit nervous about it since I've never done digital before. Can't wait for the instant ISO change and the lack of a need to scan pictures though...yay!

Hmm...let me see. I've been photographing since I was young. I have always hated having my picture taken and found that being the one taking the pictures kept me out of the shot (unless my thumb got in the way : ). I was one of the yearbook photographers in high school...we did our own developing and alll which was lots of fun. I am an artist but I am mostly doing photography right now because I have 2 little boys and don't want to have them around the toxic chemicals that come with oil painting and the other art forms.

I am trying to start a non-profit organization so that I can photograph children (and their families) who are in the hospital fighting cancer. I want to get to where I am able to easily fund the session, a few printed out portraits, and a CD with all the good ones on it with the sale of my art photography.
