My big news!
A couple of months ago a lady came in to have my husband take pictures of a painters pieces to make giclees. While here she saw some of my work. She said she HAD to have a copy of one I did of a local barn. She also said that she owns a gallery and wanted to have some of my work in her gallery.
While I was excited I was also reserved. People say things and often nothing happens. I spoke with her a few times after that and she was still interested. She also wanted me to send her a digital file of the barn and an artist bio so she could submit it to a magazine. The magazine was going to choose 1 artist's work to represent the gallery show. Well, this all happened weeks ago and I never heard another word from her. Finally this past Wednesday night I get up the nerve to call her. Yes, she says she still wants the images and the show opening was tonight!!!!  Oh, and by the way...the magazine chose my picture to represent the show!!!!!! Knock me over with a feather!!!!!! I just got back from the opening...it was my first gallery experience...what a trip!! People had a lot of positive things to say about my work and they could not believe they were photographs. Who knows if I'll sell anything but, it is a start.  The show runs through January 4, 2009.Here are some pictures from tonight and the magazine. She had not gotten a chance to hang my prints yet as I could not get in touch with her until 20 minutes before the show! She will hang them before the gallery is open again. __________________

That is just awesome, Lori. I'm very happy for you and hope that it will lead to better things!
I recognized that shot of the Queen Anne's Lace that you posted a while back. Those shots sure look good in big print, don't they! Cool! |
