I allowed ACDSee 8 to build a database of my photos. 400 gigs in all. That was four days ago. The program is still working, chewing up hard drive space in the process: about 25 gigs so far. What's the deal?
I'm about to say "this app bites the big one" and look for something else. But what? All I want to do is see thumbnails of my $*@# photos. __________________

400GB in a single whack?!! You don't ask for much do you?
I actually gave up on ACDSee for a different reason a couple of years ago. Picasa catalogued my 250GB drive overnight, RAW files and all. Chip |

I think with that quantity of images it's going to be a bit of a pain to move to a different cataloger. I've used many of them over time, and still prefer iMatch for speed and flexibility, but wouldn't want to switch again unless something significantly better came along (e.g. maybe Lightroom on Vista by end of year
