Default photoshop eyes

I maybe posting this to the wrong forum, but I was hoping to get some feedback on how some of you photoshop eyes in portraits. I really like the bright, vibrant look of alot of the eyes in portraits that I have seen, but some of them appear to have a china doll look. I'm relatively new to this and would love some advice. I have PS CS3 as my editing software.

THANKS

Scott Kelby write the best Photoshop books. He covers this very subject in detail. Look for "The Adobe Photoshop CS3 Book for Digital Photographers" by Scott Kelby.

One of our own posted a video tutorial on eye enhancement that I adopted to my workflow.

Pretty much lasso out the area around the eyes and create a new layer. Sharpen, desat the red, pump up the sat on the normal eye color. Mask the adjustments and paint them in. Adjust the opacity of the mask layer. flatten or merge, then jump a new layer and outline the iris with a small brush with something blackish applied at 100% then backed off with the opacity slider.
Viola!

Flatten it like a fast food burger, then serve it up.

I think Jay did the video

Songman45, I appreciate if you can find the video for the benefit of others. I would love to learn this. As the saying goes, a picture is worth 1000 words.

See if this doesn't get you in the neighborhood. Jay has several offerings in the list of eye enhancments, all are top-shelf.

That's the spirit stealers,

You could help benefit others too. Write a forum thread on how to use the forum search feature. A thread on how to use an Internet search engine like Google would benefit others too.
