I was out and about last night, playing with my new 20mm f/2.8 Nikkor and took this shot (adjusted brightness, contrast, and saturation):
![]() Overall, I like the shot, the bright green of the truck, the red of the storefront trim--even the additional green of the grass and the darker red of the other buildings--but it didn't come out as cool I wanted. My wife, as soon as she saw the pic, started telling me how she would crop it. I resisted her cropping suggestion. It was just too drastic, threw away too much of the image. After she left the room, though, I decided to give her suggestion a shot: ![]() Damn. She was right. ![]() Still not an award winning photograph, but suddenly you could focus on that green and red, and you can even see the shiny chrome on the truck (and maybe want to polish it up some). Anyway, the moral of this story is: Don't argue with the scrapbooker on cropping. Or, be open to trying radical crops. Or something. Pick your own. ![]() -David __________________

Everytime I ask the ole lady what she thinks of a shot, he doesn't like it. I ask how to fix it and all I get is "start over"
