What is the best way to edit and print jpg files that do not have an embedded profile.
Can you just print using a printer profile directly from photoshop? Will it have the colors as shown in Photoshop? __________________

Tough question. I would open the file in PS and assign sRGB profile. If that doesn't causes major changes in the colors then perform whatever edits you need and go to print. Use a printer profile that matches your printer & paper.

Mmmm, mystery meat. Start with sRGB, and if that doesn't work, try Adobe RGB, as those are the two most likely suspects. Then print as usual using the profile suggested for your printer an paper, as blumsman said.
