Default Same editing to number of images in CS3

Is it possible to apply the exact steps of processing to a number of images in CS3 without recording the actions? Like opening multiple files and then do levels, curves, filters, etc the same way to all of them.

If you use adjustment layers, you can drag the layers to images you want to apply the same adjustments to.

I have never used PS CS3 to process many photos in batch.

In Lightroom you can copy the settings from one photo and paste them directly to another photo. Also I use Nikon and Capture NX can be used to copy a photos settings to all photos in a batch after you save the settings and process a batch.

As Alex says, this is why you should make your edits on individual adjustment layers. That way you can paste the layers (any combination of them) onto whichever photographs you like.
