My wife wants to blog. The site needs to have photos resized to their specs. She is not willing to learn PS or a similar program. Can anyone recommend a little program that makes it really easy to simply resize pictures by px or dpi?

Divorce? Stop enabling this type of behavior.
Tell her if she is going to blog she will have to learn something new. Tell her you are too busy for hand holding her. Then duck and run out of the house and don't stop for a couple of miles. ![]() |

If you're using Windows XP, the Image Resizer Powertoy is easy. Find the picture in Explorer, right-click and select "Resize image..." for a little pop-up menu with typical sizes or a custom option. The new resized image appears next to the original, which is left intact.
It requires a reboot after installing. |

NO WAY. I don't know how well she can shoot.
Besides it would sound nicer coming from you. What about the photo editor that comes in windows? Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. To open it go to a directory that has a photo you want to open and right click on the image and then choose "open with" and select the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. Don't click on the box that says always open with this program if you want the files to open normally with PS. |

Find out what blogging software she's going to use. A lot of them will allow you to hook up to Flickr or Picasso. She can just upload photos directly to a photo site, let the site handle the resizing and hosting, etc. and then link to the gallery in your blog.

Faststone Image Viewer or XnView are fantastico - if your wife has the patience to spend 10 minutes learning one of them.
The great thing is, that you can do the resizing (which always creates some blurring; even with Lanczos 3 interpolation enabled in these programs) and have the software immediately do a little sharpening before saving the image. The pics will look a lot better. Both programs a great for batch -processing also. __________________
