Default Cloning

I need a lesson in cloning. It's something I have never been able to do. I posted some images in the macro forum (Morning Garden). I love the last image of the Japanese Maple seeds, but there is a shadow line on one of wings I'd like to remove. I've tried, but cannot get it to look right. I'm currently using PSP 12, but would imagine cloning is cloning. All help and hints are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I wouldn't know about that, because I'm not familiar with PSP12. But if you're right the Photoshop CS3 User Guide, a pdf file, may be helpful. Get it here.
It describes cloning on page 193 and on.

Have fun!

The best hint/tip that I can give is for you to do all of your cloning in small increments, sampling a new point frequently to avoid any indication of repetition or pattern.

Hello Buckeye Land from the Middle of the Mitten. The July/August of PC Photo magazine has "A Coning Primer" starting on pg. 54. Only four pages long, but may be a good place to start. Good luck.

Greatest tip I ever heard for using clone stamp is to change the blend mode to lighten or darken depending on what you are trying to do. It is awesome!

That's for Photoshop BTW

Just picked that up and read it. Great tips! Thanks. Thanks for everyone else's input too.
