Hey all.....
I've been struggling along using multiple linux based programs for a while now.... trying to do my workflow for my portrait business. I just saw a ad for Bibble Pro in aftercapture magazine.... and came and checked out their web-site on-line (Bibble Labs - Professional Photo Workflow Software). If it's not all hype... I think this could be what I've been waiting/looking for! I get so frustrated having to switch back and forth between programs while editing, proofing, finishing etc my portraits it just takes soooooo much time. So are there any personal reviews/opinions for using Bibble Pro with Linux (or just using Bibble Pro at all?). I don't mind spending some money, if it will save me time.... sometimes there is just a huge amount of $$$ lost from a portrait shoot because the workflow took soooooo much of my time! I know they have a free trial but, I was hoping to hear from others on here as well.. pros/cons. Thanks, ~Rae~ __________________

Well I guess nobody knows much about it here.... but after further reading and thinking I did just order bibble pro today. They are about to come out with a version 5 (I got 4.9 and should receive a free upgrade to 5), that does some really awesome things (especially considering it'll run on Linux!).
I will be able to work in 16bit RAW, in layers with a full undo history, never harming my original file etc. There's soooo much capabilities to this program that I'm quite excited to put it to use. *crosses fingers* I hope it lives up to the hype ! |

Hi Rae, just now saw your post.
Like you, I use Gimp and Raw Therapee on Linux (Ubuntu). I also use Digikam for my cataloging and viewing and for minor jpg edits, so I'm going through three apps sometimes. It works well for me but I don't do high volume money work, just personal stuff. I tried the Bibble trial a year or so ago but couldn't get it to work right, and didn't pursue it any further. I think my download was corrupt or missing something. So I guess I'm really not much help but I would like to hear how you like Bibble when you get it installed. |

The Bibble 5 preview is looking sweeeet.
I only have experience with the win version. I guess it is the most flexible RAW editor available, especially when thinking about the plugins (that actually work on the RAW data). I guess every RAW converter needs some time to establish a workflow - once you get used to it Bibble 4 allows very quick working. ( this will not help you however, since you will be switching to version 5 by then . |

Sorry, never saw this post. I used Bibble when I was using linux for my desktop. I am having to do more work with images now (websites) so I moved to a mac, and use photoshop and lightroom for my pictures. I think you will like it, may have already bought it, old thread, but it is not bad, and there are not many choices.

Sorry I forgot about this thread. I did buy Bibble ..... and am using version 4 (can hardly wait for 5!!).
It is super easy to edit Raw's and work with them through bibble, definitely easier then using multiple programs. Though I still use The Gimp for some editing, a lot of my work can be done through bibble now. I love that I can edit, delete, make changes, and batch convert (even into multiple sizes at the same time). I'm about to re-open my studio.. (been closed due to maternity leave and remodel work) in a month or so. And I'm excited to see how much it will help with a paid shoot . |

I used Bibble for a while. It's really excellent raw software. I switched from using it to using only open source software.
