Hi all I'm having a problem and I need your help. OK when I'm done in lightroom and I need to do more editing in CS3. I hit the edit in CS3 button and CS3 opens great so far but my problem is that allot of stuff and most but not all of my filters are greyed out.
Just so you know my photos in lightroom are dng and I get the dialogue choice of making a copy to use. But if I open the same image in bridge and send it to CS3 all filters and everything works. Please help as I would like to just go straight from lightroom to CS3. __________________

You need to look at your external editing options in LR. It would seem you are editing in 16bit (best for maintaining quality) which accounts for the greyed out menu options.
If you really need all the options and filters set these preferences in LR Edit>Preferences>External Editing. On this dialogue you can select Colour Space, Bit Depth, File Format and File Compression. Alternatively in CS3 (You will need to do this on each image) Image>Mode Select 8bits/channel I hope this helps. ![]() |

What McBit said, because that should certainly be it.
By the way, if you export them out to PS and usually run an action or do the same thing everytime to them, maybe this year old post might be interesting to read..... Lightroom Lesson #2 - Run Actions? |

The 16 bit/8 bit comment above is the reason you're seeing some of the filters as unavailable, as already mentioned.
Unlike mcbit's suggestion, my workflow remains in 16 bit throughout the editing process. I only shift to 8 bit when saving the completed JPG or on the rare occasions when I need to utilize one of the filters that only work in 8 bit. |
