I did a quick tutorial on how to straighten a horizon using Photoshop. It is available here in pdf format if anyone is interested. Feedback would be appreciated.
Also available is a tutorial on using layer masks __________________

These are the 3 that I've done so far. I would like to do more as it really cements my own understanding when I put it down on paper (so to speak). I've also received some feedback from others telliing me another (and sometimes, better) way to do the same thing, so I learn just as much by doing them ![]() |

Greetings, I am new here and trying to learn to use PhtoShop. I find that by trying all the tutorails I find I begin to catch on to how this all works. Thank you for your helpful tutorial and improving the skills of new people like me.
Sharing knowledge is such a great thing. Thanks Again Cuggie |

Thanks for your tutorial Carl! Very helpful to newbie like myself.
May Iask you a question on file saving with PS CS2? After working on a picture in PS CS2, when I save it on a JPEG format, it's saved but the jpeg is not recognized, and I cannot open the file with any program... The only successful way to save pics on my system, is to use the menu "save for web". Any idea? I'm close to unistall CS2 and go back to CS where I didn't have any problem. Thanks for help. |

That sounds very odd. I assume that when you select "save as", that you're highlighting the jpeg format then typing in a file name? You could manually type in the .jpg suffix in addition to selecting the correct format. I don't know. I don't experience the problem that you describe.
Glad you found the tutorial beneficial. There's no way that I'd go back to CS after working with CS2...I use too many of the newer features and would miss them. |

Hi Carl your Tutorials are excellent, I found them to be of great assistance in working with Photoshop. May I ask you if you know of a way I can color code Actions, and also Menu items that I use a lot. Makes it much easier to find them each time. I know it can be done in CS2 but cant figure out how to do it on CS which is the version I currently use. Thanks in advance for any help on this matter.

I don't have CS loaded any more, so I'm not real sure. I seem to recall that you can color code your actions in CS and should be similar to how it's done in CS2. In CS2, the color codes are only available when you have the actions in button mode, I believe. I'm not sure about menu items.
