I dont have a major editing software...I just downloaded the trial version of Lightroom and its pretty cool...which should I buy?
I understand it depends on what kind of work load you have...Im no prefessional but am not a beginer...I do some selling of my work(most all editing done with canon supplied softwares), other than that thats it!! Thanks Garren __________________

Well for me the answer is easy.... I need both. I am in love with Lightroom and the ease in which you can make corrective adjustments. If you shoot LOTS of images, the cataloguing with Lightroom is very intuitive. The time saving benefits can't be overlooked. That said, I however love the fun things that you can do with photoshop. So if you are just batching and making adjustments, not playing and having some fun then Lightroom will more than meet your needs. And there are already some fair presets that can be downloaded to do a few quick and easy conversions. If however you have a creative flare, then you will also want PS. I don't know how versatile the Elements version is, though I've certainly heard some good things. If you are looking at $$ maybe your best option would be to go with Lightroom and Elements 6 (or whatever the latest Elements version is). That might give you the benefits of both programs without such a huge expenditure.
Not sure my reply helps any, but perhaps some food for thought? Good luck! |

Lightroom is awesome for that feature and the countless others, but if I had to chose between the 2 programs it's a no brainier for me
Photoshop is a million times more powerful than lightroom for Image editing. I believe that is what Garrren is mostly interested in based on his HDR work as of late, and his interest in some of my editing tutorials. Lightroom is an awesome program nonetheless though; I use it everyday Best, Jay |
