A few have told me recently that my pictures look a bit dark or possible over saturated. I just assumed they were a bit darker for there taste perhaps, because I have a calibrated monitor. If it's calibrated it must be correct right
Nooo!!! Apparently my Monitor lost Calibration about a month ago and I just ignored the re-calibrate window that Huey pops up on me every few days, I thought because it's an LCD it didn't need to be re-calibrated that often. I guess this is still true assuming the profile doesn't somehow change. In any event, I just wanted to let you all know it can easily happen as my LCD Laptop lost Calibration some how. All my recent pics were significantly darker than I wanted them to be, and also several looked over saturated. I'm in the process of going back and lightening up about the past month or so of pictures I've posted here. So if your a fan of the Landscapes area, Architecture or Pets, you may notice my pics have lightened up a bit. Sorry about that and just remember to not Ignore the re-calibrate window even if you have an LCD Monitor!! Thanks, Jay __________________

Not the case my Friend
It does re-adjust for the room every minute, and that feature was still working correctly. My monitor was about 25 clicks on the levels pallete to dark. Moving the middle slider in the levels adjustment window from 1.00 to 1.30'ish is bringing my images back to the level they should be at in my opinion. The level they looked to be on my mis- calibrated monitor that is I wish it was just the ambient room light adjustment, because that would only be a few days worth of pictures at worst. I'm looking back all the way late June now, and almost all of my Pics look to dark. Before June they look correct to my eye. Very Embarrassing error on my part as I've been sharing pictures here that are not what I wanted people to see. The Chester Farm picture was 1 of the few that still looked pretty good with the darker levels, but most of them are way off to my eye. Thanks for input Mr. Pickles Jay |

I'm really not sure. I highly doubt the monitor changed. I think more likely it dropped the calibration profile and reverted to default for some reason, while still allowing the ambient light device to still work properly. Perhaps a windows update/ reboot situation caused it?? Thats my guess anyway

I was advised sometime ago to remove adobe gamma from start up mene as it sometims conflicts with any other caliberation . Well I did that and my monitor caliberation was almost a month over due yesterday before I recaliberated it .
There was virtually no difference in before and after caliberation . I have know idea if this has anything to do with what happenned to yours though. __________________
