Default Canon Software Updates

If you use Canons DPP, it was recently revised and is in version 3.0.

Thanks for that information.

I am a Canon user. How good is the DPP compared to other RAW converters in the market?

As far as image quality, I think Canons own DPP can't be beat....on Canon images. This is pretty typical of the converters that come with the camera. I think DPP is probably the best of the ones that come with a camera.

It's biggest "issues" are the workflow, user interface, etc. So a lot of people use something else because it fits their "flow" better. But keep in mind that those that really care, will tell you that on some images, they have to use DPP because 3rd party programs are just too far off. Also keep in mind that "far off" is very very hard to see, unless oyu look at both side by side.

I don't use a Canon anymore , but I used DPP before quite a bit. I preferred the workflow in the now defunct RSP, and now use Lightroom because it does what I need it to do. It works for me, and that is the key.
