I'm trying to use the Pen Tool to move a selection from one image to another. My work flow is...
. Open the image that will receive the selection "Image A" . Open the image containing the selection "Image B" . Duplicate the background layer on Image A . Use the Pen Tool to complete the selection on Image B (Dropping the Opacity to 0% to enable viewing a better selection) . CTRL + Click on the Shape Layer to activate the selection (marching ants) . Move/Drag the selection to Image A using the Move Tool I'm just getting the outline of the shape filled with White; it's not allowing me to Move the image itself. Would someone help me understand this process. Thanks! __________________

Is the layer you are copying the selection from a layer mask? If so, you are probably just moving the white masked portion, and ignoring the black portion.
You need to switch focus to the actual pixel portion of the mask (click the layer thumbnail, not the B&W mask. |

1- you need to change it from shape selection to path by clicking on the second box in from the left on the top bar.
2- make your selection with the pen tool. 3-Right click on image and select "make selection"..now you will be able to drag it across. |

I didn't realize you could right click it to make a selection from the path
I used to go into the channels area to do that. Thanks for that tip ![]() Jay |
