I actually use PhotoImpact 12 at home and work and use Photoshop CS at work as well. Guess I should have added Fireworks to the Poll.

My first poll. I tried to go back and edit it to allow more that one vote, but that is not an option in the poll edit mode.

Still will be interesting to see what everyone else is using.

Well I use Lightroom for processing, crop and straighten. The CS2 to de-noise, sharpen and clone out any dust.

Photoshop CS together with the following:
Neat Image www.neatimage.com for noise reduction
1-Click Actions http://www.1clickactions.com Great package of actions that cover many fields
CurveMeister www.curvemeister.com An improved version of curves.

Tried loads of add-ons in the past but I get along just fine with the above.

OK, now the question is.... Do you have more invested in your camera gear or your computer, hardware, and software? I guess that could make an interesting thread in itself.

thats an easy one: prime investment is gear (lenses+body, tripods etc), than software, next hardware and finally tools (like lenspen, filters, bags etc).

Yeah, that's an easy one. I mean, 1 Canon L lens could get you 2 or even three CS2 or very good desktop.

Default Re: What Image Editing Software do you use?

I'd say it's a balance. After the initial hit of getting the body and lenses, I needed some way to store and process all this stuff I was making. I am interested in the entire process of creating a print using a digital workflow, so eventually the computer, printer, calibration tools will approach the amount I've spent on camera and lenses. There is always some new $40 tool or plug-in it seems. Depending on what kind of photography your interested in, lighting can get pretty pricey. The whole thing is pretty ridiculous, if you ask me, but so are most pursuits. I have slot cars 1/87 on up to 1/24. They aren't cheap. I like to collect Lego from the 70s and early 80s and even though they can be found at garage/yard/estate sales, it adds up. I have twice as much invested in fishing gear and tackle than photography equipment, and I always feel like there is something missing from my arsenal of rods and reels. Don't get me started on baseball equipment for my son! $120 for bat? Jeez. Do you play a musical instrument? My drums and percussion easily approach $10K. As with any thing, you don't have to spend a lot to participate, but it sure is fun to.

Totally agree with John when it comes to cost of hobbies. Just think about, say, cars or boats for example.
