Urgent Resize Help!

A company in England wants to use this photo for an educational brochure but it has to be resized, I've never done resizing before.
I need to resize this photo so that it is 1000x1400 at 300dpi. How do I do this? I'm using GIMP.

I've resized the image (from your larger original) and set the resolution to 300ppi which gives an image size of 4.667" x 3.33" @300ppi

Wouldn't it be more useful to learn how to do it yourself? I haven't used Gimp in years, but here are the basics: GIMP - GIMPLite Quickies
