I'm not entirely sure this is in the right forum, but I am having serious issues uploading. I haven't had a need for anything more than a free photo hosting site until last week when I began working as the primary photographer for a local camp.
I'm currently running the free trial on both smug mug and zenfolio simultaneously and can't upload to either, I will have an average of 500-1000 pictures per week that need to be loaded for parents and I am now behind by 3 days with only a total of 1/4 loaded. Smugmug has more loaded but has crashed the computers so frequently it hasn't been worth it. Zenfolio appeared to be making some progress with a trial app from Photo Guru- until I realized none of the pictures were loading, they were all timed out. Both I have to babysit just to reboot the computer(s) when they lock up. What do you do to upload, how long should I expect it to take, and do you have any suggestions other than the two sites? Or anything I could do? I have far exceeded my allotted "edit" time and am at a complete loss. Thanks. __________________

I use Zenfolio and have never had that kind of a problem with uploading to them. I would suggest that you contact there Tech Support and they will help you figure out what the problem is.
By the way it would be helpful to know what OS and what kind of internet connection you have |

The good news is I finally figured out the problem- apparently it had something to do with my firewall. I disabled it and it's working beautifully.
The bad news? Zenfolio support was pretty far off base. Their reply was to make sure my clients didn't have connectivity issues. Thanks to all for your responses. |

Disabling your your firewall isn't a very good idea. I suggest you check to see if it offers the ability to exempt communications with certain sites yet leave the firewall in place.

You should be able to leave the firewall in place. Figure out how to set it to allow your uploads. Are you running one in addition to the windows firewall?
