Has anyone that has LR4 noticed that it runs slower than LR3?
On my very fast system, there is a noticeable lag between moving the sliders and the image updating. That was not evident in LR3. Opinions? For those that may ask, I have: i7-2600K Ocd to 4.3Ghz 16 gbs Ram HD 6950 2 gb RAM video card 1 tb 7200 RPM program drive 2 tb 7200 RPM data drive. __________________

I agree. It also seems to use a lot more resources than LR3. Initially I like the LR3
sliders better - but you can change between LR processes in the Camera Calibration tab. So I'm sure that will get by until I have adjusted to the new sliders. The soft proofing seems better than in Photoshop CS5.5 But I'll see when I get my photos back tomorrow. I was really hoping they would add a means to convert by profile when exporting, but I do not see it. |

I agree as well. It runs noticeably slower. This was present in the beta version, I had hoped it would be worked out.

Adobe has just made available a Release Candidate, Lightroom 4.1, here: Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.1 Release Candidate | photo management software prerelease - Adobe Labs . It is supposed to help with some of the "slowness" problems and adds support for the raw files from the new Canon 5D Mark III.

I will try to increase the Raw cache.. hate using HDD space for cache.. wasted space..

It runs slower for me because it is crashing ALL THE TIME (at least in the maps module).
