Default Beginner with post-processing

I've always shot in JPEG and it is time I grow up. I have been shooting in RAW lately and have all these RAW files but don't have the first idea of where to start.* I do have photoshop Elements 4 but have only used it for cropping and a little USM. I shoot with the Canon 20D and have the latest RAW converter.* Is there a big difference in converters (just read about "Rawshooter Premium")? I need a BEGINNERS resource to take me from start to finish. Can anyone throw out a few books, articles, etc.?

I use the built in RAW converter for PS CS2. I like the results from it but others swear by the other converters. Typically, you convert to some 16 or 32 bit tiff, edit that file and then save to your 8bit jpg for printing.

E4 has a built in converter - not a bad place to start .

I use CS2 and ACR 3.4 for most of my work. It's convenient to do all my work in one app. I believe the raw converter in PSE 4 is a simplified version of ACR, and it should do an excellent job for you. Though it is written for CS2, RW Camera Raw breaks down just about everything you need to know about raw processing: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/032...475343?ie=UTF8.
It might be worth skimming "while in the bookstore." Pixmantic has been gobbled up by Adobe, so you may want to grab a download of Rawshooter Essentials while you still can. It is a very good tool. I also have purchased Capture One Pro, but haven't used it over a year. Finally, in my opinion, Digital Photo Professional (DPP), that came with your 20D, probably does the best job with raw conversions, though the UI is a little strange at first.
