Really well done!! That first image just sucks me into the screen and I love that wide angle effect
For a critique, I think a little more black would add to the contrast. Jay |

Horizon line is great. The color really jumps. Great shots.

Unfortunately, no. This was actually a first visit for me. I live about 3 hours away, but was in Chantilly for the week, so I figured I would take the 1 hour drive West and see if I could catch some scenery. Great area! I'm looking forward to a return trip with my kids, perhaps even a weekend of camping in the Spring. I would like to get back when the snow falls for some more Sunset shots. |

My boy was 5 whe he climbed all the way to Hawksbill Summit on the AT with me. There is where you will get utterly amazing photos. In the fall the summit is where the migrating raptors have their flyway for the southern migration. There are a considerable amount of black bears in the Shen. I crossed paths with a sow and three cubs----two were that springs and another was the years before. She just ran across the trail with them behind and was not seen again. There are still homesteader cabins in the mountains that were lived in by generations (200 yrs) of Scotch Irish. When Roosevelt built the park he had them all removed. One of the most interesting the the old Corbin Cabin, which you can rent for a night or two. In it's original shape but repaired, it is very interesting. Hope you do return and let us know how it went. Slan |
