Jay, this one, plus the similar one you did on your recent tutorial (The Path), which, btw, was excellent, are simply superb - Master images. I love the affect of your vignetting plus the midnight sepia. Also, thanks for showing a new way of "painting with light" - the middle gray layer in Overlay mode.
You're a rare gem among photographers for sure - you have an eye, you can pre-visualize with the best, but more importantly, you have the SKILLS to craft a fine image. Something most photographers lack, and every photographer should strive for. I tip my hat to you. In my opinion, you are the "Marc Adamus" of HDR photography - and that is no small feat. Michael H. On a technical level, this is exceptionally well done. I can see why you'd want to include this in a portfolio.
For subject matter/creativity, this is not one of your best shots Jay. I know you have many images that far surpass this in terms of subject quality and viewer interest. The layperson isn't going to see your technical achievement, they are only going to respond to an image that moves them. Sorry, but for me, I'm not very moved by this example. |

I think this is one of those shots that would possibly look good on some type of metallic paper. You done a great job on the composition also. The only part that I really noticed that don't match is that all of the outer parts of the photo is kinda dark.....except for the lower quarter on the right side. It looks like it almost needs a slight burn to it.

Tommy,
Thanks for stopping by Good call on the lower right corner! It does look like it needs a burn and now when I look at the photo it seems unbalanced I greatly appreciate the feedback and I will fix that issue for sure. Best, Jay |
