Default First try with HDR from 1 image

I tried this just for the heck of it to see how it would come out.

Nice photo. I too am just starting HDR, so I have a couple of questions for you: 1) which software did you use? 2) How many exposures and were they originally in what format (raw, jpg, etc). It might be nice to see how this compares to an original without HDR? Also, if you use photomatrix, which tonemapping type did you use? The colors of your photo pop nicely.

What do you mean "from 1 image"? HDRI requires the blending of variations (= more than one) of an image.
Maybe you meant "from 1 RAW exposure"?

Thanks Bruce.
I use Photomax. I only had th original photo which was shot as a jpeg. I wanted to see if it would work if i used photoshop and made 2 more pictures with one being over exposed and the other being underexposed. I then used the 2 shots i made in photoshop along with the original to get this shot. I then did some sharpening and more tweaking in CS2 and I used the polarizing filter in Nik color efex pro 3.0 to eliminate some of the nasty glare. This is the original shot.

I used 1 jpeg image and then created 2 more images in CS2.

I've tried that once, take one image and adjust the EV in Photoshop, one at +2 and another at -2...for some reason it works better when you actually shoot the images, IMHO.

I used to think that too, but I saw some other peoples work, and some spectacular work here. I've been bracketing alot of single raw exposures lately, and I love the results.
