I there,

I shot the scene again a bit further out. I think the result is a bit better although there is still a bit of distortion. I guess it takes a while getting used to new equipment. C&C appreciated.

I agree Great job and the composition is really eye catching! For a critique, I would tone the Blue down a tad and clone out the white streak on the upper left.

As has been mentioned, there are software options to correct (or exaggerate) inherent lens "distortions"... Corel PHOTO-PAINT calls theirs "effects>distort>mesh warp... the example I'm posting is not a perfectly straight accomplishment (my fault) but you get the idea. Note the "pixel pulling" and how it distorted the nearest clouds (but the utility pole stayed straight...). ...Normpixel...
