Again, 2 more masterpieces for the "collection"

When you meter your shots in these situations, which metering mode do you use? Evaluative, Center-Weighted or Spot?

I use Center-Weighted metering
but if you shooting in manual mode, Just keep your eyes to the Blinkies
you always need the 1st shot without any Blinkies
Then you do your -2.0+2
I have find 5 or 7 shots works a litle better
After all ,don't forget we shooting digital ,we can always delete them
but we cant go back in time

they just seem a bit too "tone burned" for my liking.

just my .02, but i have noticed that the tone mapping on your projects tends to go to the extreme.

i'd be interested to see what might happen if you brought it down a notch and worked within the parameters that were meant to be more natural looking, just to see what might happen.

just a thought.

like i said. my 02. its a preference thing. over tonemapping makes things look very cartoony to me.

not meant to be discouraging. all effort and tastes ultimately appreciated as being another perspective as valid as any other.

I like them! Your HDR photos push the border of being too other-worldly, but I think you come down on the right side.

i wonder if we might also benefit from a tone mapping forum...it is oft lumped in with HDR but they are not mutually exclusive.

I think they look awesome as always Certainly pushing the envelope for real, but the end result is great IMO. I think I have seen #2 before in another post, but I could be wrong.

there is an old saying which goes "it's all greek to me." which is to say that it is totally incomprehensible.

not sure how that applies...but i thought you might appreciate the reversal.

These remind me of a video game with really good graphics. They don't look don't look realistic but I think you did a good job. They have a fantasy feel to them if you know what I mean.

You said you prefer taking 5 to 7 shots for an HDR? Do you have a bracketing mode that allows you to do that? On my point and shoot the best I can do is 3 shots: -1 EV, 0 EV, +1 EV.
