Like it a lot...went to your smugmug gallery and saw some of your other HDR's and was impressed; now I am looking forward to messing around with it...did some googling on it and got some tutorials. I have CS2....any recommendations beyond that? I've been reading about some of them....

The brief explanation of your process is very helpful and appreciated as they give some of us ideas to use in our experimentations with HDR. I'm hoping one of the Photomatix experts here will create a detailed tone mapping tutorial showing how to obtain effects such as these and beyond. (Hint, hint). That would go very well with the excellent and useful tutorials that presently exist here. (Maybe I missed one here on advanced tone-mapping, if so, let me know)!

Keep the photos coming, they're looking good!

Oh yeah This is nice Garren. I can see maybe just a tiny bump up on the saturation possible, but thats totally by taste. Excellent composition and PP!!

Ken, first things first...you have to mess around in photomatix, and push all the top sliders like strength, saturation and luminosity all the way to 100...then simply go through the rest of the sliders and just push them drastically up and down and see what you can come up with!! Its really up to you how nasty and gritty you want it to look...after youve saved that to a 16 bit file(important) you just run in through tonemapping again and see if you like it...usually you have to pull down the saturation the second time to 50% or so...hope this gets you started!!

Thanks C.A.----if you go to xtrain.com you can pay to get all these tutorials on this workflow...its well worth it and really fun!!

Jay...I thought about that saturation but didnt want the barn to look to red...maybe its my computer...Ill bump it up and see!! Thanks

Nice work Garren. My only nit would be that the clouds and snow look almost the same. A little lighter on the snow I think would seperate it from the sky.

Tried running a couple of images thru tone mapping a second and third time. Really interesting color shifts with each time thru.....
