G'day to all, I've just been totally awed by each and all photo images shown here........maybe its in the 'show 2007' part......anyway...can some or part be able to be produced using PS 7........as yet there is no way I can afford to purchase CS3....I do understand that one does need to use the Photomatrix first tho.

Hello Hazzbin
PS7 is more than capable to do anyhting sown in the tutorials. Lightroom and CS3 just make it easier in some ways is all. Ps7 is a very very powerful program and the tutorials should fallow along pretty much right on.Best, Jay |

Thanks Jay- I tried this technique last night on a picture from my house- makes it much better! I'm gonna try your curves routine tonight as well.
I would post it- but its not that great. I'm going into the mountains this weekend, so hopefully I'll get a much better "subject" to try an HDR. |

I'm "brand new" to "the Camel" (5 hours!) and if this is some "inkling" of what I'm "in for" in the way of discussions then "my admiration and appreciation" to all of you (especially Worm324 and jfrancho!). I'm "new" to both HDR and Lightroom (even Photomatix and Photoshop); haven't "scratched the surfaces" yet. I try a lot of the "quick and crazy" (but NOT totally "sloppy") stuff to get "a feel" for the process. Then I can show (for instance) an "artist with a point-n-shoot" that they CAN try HDR (even with JPEGs) "creatively" and go on to more DISCIPLINE and QUALITY as they can or as they desire. Thanks again, all... from Normpixel

I am in complete and total awe! Needless to say, I'm a noob here and just can't believe I did join sooner. I'm very, very new to this HDR process as I just learned of it today, again, total noob. I look forward to learning lots from all of you and to someday have the cohones to post a pic on here...
cheers, mario |

Thanks for the effort on your tutorials, some really good information here (and in other threads on this forum).
I've been lurking for a while (1st post) and I thought I'd jump in and say that I appreciate the specifics and detail that these posts contain. It's very helpful. Thanks again, C. A. Fields |

For Worm and jfrancho, First let me say i haven't seen eye candy like this HDR stuff since i plugged my xbox360 into my new LCD TV
. With that said i have a question for you guys. I only have the Nikon D40 which does not have bracketing so last night after work i tried taking 3 raw photos from my tripod and remote so i could play with this HDR stuff. But i had to touch my camera after each picture to change the exposure and I'm sure that made some kind of movement i cant have. Anyway I was reading a post on Flickr and someone said they just shoot one shot in raw then save it in 3 different exposures jpeg or tiffs! Is this feasible? Would this work just for learning this technique? if not do you suggest any other way to use my d40 for HDR pictures? Thanks a ton guys! Jason i loved your HDR tutorial's you showed me a few photoshop things i didn't know along with the HDR stuff of course ![]() |

Hey click clack, using one raw processed in 3 different exposure settings does work, but the results can be a little limiting.
Slight movements in your framing is not a major problem, both Photomatix and PS (CS an newer) do a very good job of auto aligning when merging to HDR. Enjoy your experimentation. |
