Jay,
This is an awesome tutorial. I have been trying this on my own beofre the tutorial unsuccessfully and almost found it a total waste of time and thought the shadow/highlight tool in photoshop was good enough. But this rocks!!! Just wanted to thank-you Cheers |

I pick my exposures based on meter readings of the darkest and lightest areas of the scene, using partial or spot metering. I pick two camera settings that will expose those two elements correctly, and fill in the gaps with intermediate exposures, usually one full stop stop apart. Therefore, if the brightest exposure is 8 stops slower than the darkest exposure, there will be nine exposures, one stop apart.
Alternatively, you can AEB set at 2 stops apart. Be sure to use evaluative metering for this. |

PS7 Is an awesome program and is very capable of doing everything in the tutorial. Some menus will be a little different, but all the steps can be fallowed with out a problem.
Welcome to the camel and be sure to check out the video tutorials Best, Jay |
