This is a HDR photo I took today. We're finally going to get a little much needed rain. Critique please.

Really nice job with the continuity of the light rays.

I like the composition. The rays look great and the yellow tones on the horizon are smart. For my taste a lot of the clouds are a little bit on the dark side? But I think this is on the way to make a very good image. There are also some blow highlights to the top right of frame in particular and some noise reduction could help improve the shot. A good one though.

Great sky. Love the image proportions.
Pity about the blown sky (top right). You could try cloning it out. Martin |

I think this really well done, Martin is right though a small amout of cloning would improve the image. that said.... again it's a great picture!

Hi
Good capture with a powerful looking sky, I agree with tMartin's comment about cloning the blown out area |

After looking at this image a few times I would like to give you some critique on this image. I seem to be at odds with others on this one. This is not intended as an attack on the shot, just trying to be helpful and I will be happy for you to totally disagree with me.
The image has a nice composition with a concentration on the the drama of the sky but overall the image does not feel "balanced" to me. I find the image to be very soft and fuzzy. I accept HDR may give us a leaning to be artistic, but there has to be a boundary where there is an element of belief that the viewer thinks that this is what you witnessed. I have walked this good earth for many years now and I have never witnessed a sky like this. The black clouds next to blue just look way out of sorts. The rays are a nice touch. The power line distracts me too. The blown sky in the top right holds my eyes attention. My iPad monitor is showing a speckled line of sorts along the horizon and around the trees. I think this is maybe where some treatment has been applied to a selection of the sky (probably to combat noise) omitting the horizon edge? I think you have the makings of a good image here but some more work is needed. I hope you don't mind my critique, I am just trying to help. __________________
