Josh,

I meant to select "Weekly User Submitted Set of Images" (But perhaps bi-monthly).

When the processing challenges started we used to have 4 or 5 pages per challenge
That was when Photomatix was dominant. We now get around 3 pages.

The arrival of nik HDR, SNS-HDR and Oloneo PhotoEngine has, I believe,
made "halo-free" HDR processing much more straight forward. I think that this
may well account for the smaller number of Camels participating now.

Like Martin,I would like it to be a bi-monthly rate(a week is very short,a month is very long...)

It nearly died when it was only a week. For weeks on end the only two keeping it going were Rust and myself.

We had little problem picking a winner each week though

In keeping with all of the other challenges in the other forums, I think a month is ideal, it gives everyone a chance to get out and take a photo for the challenge.

The poll is not ideal as it doesn't say anything about who picks the theme.

Why not go back to the winner picks the theme and also judges the competition?

Tony,

As far as I am aware the Processing Challenge has never had a winner.

Are you not confusing the monthly challenge (where a winner is chosen)
with the processing exercise which is used for practice and discussion of technical
issues such as halos, ghosting etc?

Martin

i like it the way it is now, but wouldn't be opposed to it being for 2 weeks instead of one. i'd also like to see more members contributing images. seems there are only a handful of us submitting photos.

Thanks for the feedback, KU.

You've put your finger on a key problem already discussed by 3 mods; contributions.

Some are just unwilling to donate.
Some say they will but just don't get around to it.
Some find uploading to servers a problem.
Some do not know how to zip up several files together.
Some think their own stuff is not good enough.

Some, yourself included, always manage to contribute something - thank goodness.

Martin
