LOL, where did all the red mud come from? The Merc is sitting on grey tarmac - see the 0EV shot.
I think you have overcooked it. Photomatix often boosts the red content too much but I did not think that nik HDR Pro did.

Trying for grunge but I don't think it works on this image.

Here's a grunge version
same steps as my previous version although
I am a bit disappointed on the blue color of the truck for some reason
I could not get the same color tone as the previous one I tried white balance, levels and no luck.
I think it's because there's more sunlight in this shot opposed to the overcast skies on the 1st set.

A very good result, Josh, but I agree with you about the blue.

It might have been better if I had used +/- 2EV. Unfortunately I had to do a
factory reset on the camera but then forgot to set the AEB back to 2.

Major excavations on site are now at an end so I doubt if this 4x3 tug will be
back any time soon.

Here's my try.
1st image posed a challenge for alignment. In the end I only merged the source files in Photomatix and saved the merge as a 32 bit Radiance file which I then opened with Oloneo's PhotoEngine and tonemapped. Got rid of the electrical pole and wires.
2nd image was straighforward merge and tonemapped with PhotoEngine.
Martin, thanks for sharing your source files.
Cheers, Murray
