Well as a life long Canon fan I can't believe I'm doing this but I'm in the process of switching to Nikon
The specs and reviews of the Nikon D800 where just to much for me to resist.I have sold off my 5D Mark II, grip and flash and only have the 24-105 L lens and the 70-300mm left Now the problem is there are no D800s to be had unless you want to pay $700 or so over list. The problems don't end there because none of the recommended lens are available ether ![]() So I won't be posting photos for awhile(yea I know a blessing to some it will be a long summer. dusty __________________

Your best bet is to place an order with an authorized Nikon seller. They have been filling the backlog pretty quickly. Some of the big photo guys like B&H Photo tend to get larger allocations are may be more likely to fill an order more quickly

Well if things go right...and you know they never do
my time out should be coming to an end. I have located a 28-300mm Nikon lens for $800.00($1049 list and going for as much as $2000.00 on FleaBay) and should be here on June the seventh.Today I got lucky and found a place with the Nikon D800 stock coming in May 31st. A total of 8 bodies for 14 stores and I am number 4 on the list it is due on the 8th. So get ready for a deluge of photos.waiting in WV dusty |

I thought there was an adapter that will let you mound canon lens onto nikon body
also D400 is supposed to come out by end up year and d600 which will be an entry level full frame will also be announced soon you can save some money and not sacrifice all that much on image quality 24mp vs 32mp on the d800 + d800 is 4fps and these two new bodies are supposed to be 6fps+ |

No, I think its the other way, you can mount a Nikon lens on a Canon with an adapter but you lose auto focus....I think ![]() The D800 is almost 37mp although that probably doesn't mean much and I can't imagine me waiting for these new bodies to come out let alone getting in line for them still waiting in WV dusty __________________
