Default Introducing NKRemote

For a long time now I have mentioned on and off
that I have been using NKRemote sometimes to take
AEB Shots (Auto Bracketed Shots) but there's more
to NKRemote then just AEB you can set custom timers
which is ideal for controlled test timing such as for
Astro Photography and or light Painting and much more.

In fact Breeze Systems' DSLR Remote Pro Multi-Camera controlling 120 Canon EOS 30D cameras using 5 laptops
for a car advertisement shot at Santa Monica Airport 360 degree

* Now NKRemote is for Nikon Cameras only the software
works by tethering to the camera using it's usb cable.
PC ONLY

* If you are Canon users then the same software is available
but it's called DSLR Remote.
PC & MAC

But In this quick Video I will show you Nikon Fans
how simple it is to bypass the 3 AEB limit of your camera.

I have a laptop dedicated just for this
application and portability it's a EEEPc mini netbook.

Josh, thanks for the video. That is one very handy piece of software. Being able to fire off a set of 15 bracketed shots is a real advantage for those really high dynamic range scenes. Its other features are pretty nice as well.
Regards, Murray

Works great for stacking images such as macro since all you have to do is keep
Adjusting the focus the camera is fixed position and software is on a timer
So no movement is introduced in a controlled indoor environment such as getting focus stacked
Images of jewelry ,watches etc.. dead insects, flowers

The software writes images to hard drive bypassing load times on sd or cf cards
Plenty of more space and images can be viewed as fast as the software takes them
Think about it know how your hdr composition scene is captured in real time and make adjustments

Opposed to looking at a small LCD and or viewfinder thinking it looks great
Until you view the images in full size to find out it wasn't focused right etc.. terrible CA or noise

It seems slow when taking bracketed shots, around a second for each according to the video, may be it's faster when working directly and not driving the screen grab shots at the same time.

If it is only one shot per second then it's not much faster than manual bracketing and all the restrictions that apply to that apply to this, in that you can't take images of anything that moves a lot between shots, branches on a windy day, waves etc.

Most DSLR cameras record bracketed shots a lot faster than that, less than a second on a bright day (shutter speed comes into this) for 5 shots +/- 2 stops apart on my Pentax K5, not the fastest camera there is. But you need this kind of speed to get as little movement as possible between shots.

Here is my shot taken when a gale was blowing at Whitby, it took less than a second to record the 3 bracketed shots even though the light was anything but bright.

I would not like having to lug around my laptop, spare batteries etc. as well as all my camera gear, tethered shooting is fine in a studio, in the field it's much less useful.

Shot looks good it does go faster I was shooting from dark interior room out towards light with a little zoom but yeah it goes faster. Also even if you did your 3 aeb shot on a windy day out will have motion you have to correct that motion by masking in with original to reduce ghosting and motion blur trey rat cliff shows this in his videos heck we have even done that here with weekly challenges its just a tool as an alternative should anyone like the option that's all. Thanks for sharing and commenting as well as welcome to camel

* forgot to mention one important thing during the camera taking the images they are instantly transferred to the pc for storage so there's a little delay
in previewing the capture like in the video so that's why it appears to be slow. The shot is taken transferred, rendered for display.
