Default First HDR Attempts

I've been intrigued with the HDR photos posted here but when I've thought about trying it myself I get all sweaty, my heart rate goes up, and my brain sorta rolls over in my head. This weekend I strolled through a small town during their annual Dogwood-Azalea festival and my wife's aunt asked me to take some photos of her house. So I thought I'd take some bracketed exposures thinking that SOME DAY I might attempt this HDR thing.

I downloaded the Photomatix trial s'ware and gave it a try. These are just the first attemps and none of the photos were cropped or edited at all. All are -1, 0, +1. I'm beginning to get excited about this. Gotta go experiment some more and pay some moolah to get rid of the watermarks.

Do you have photoshop?
I would clone out that partial area in the grass where the tree didn't make the shot that's all.

Thanks for the help and comments. I've been making a mental list of buildings and sites I've noticed lately that might respond well to HDR treatments.

There's an old river town not far from here that I need to spend some time in. Problem is, that the parts of town I want to shoot tend to be .......... uhhhhh .......... let's say that they probably should be shot rapidly ..... preferably from a dependable car.

Once photography enters your bloodstream, it is like a disease.

Software: Too numerous to list but my most used utility is ShiftN for perspective correction

Gear: Canon G12, no tripod, no lenses, no flash, no remote, no cases or bags!
