Default Curious.....What is your favorite quote.

I noticed on a lot of signatures people have a phrase, saing, movie quote, part of a poem, ect. So now I am curious. What is your favorite quote? It can be a movie line, part of a poem, a saying in your family, whatever. It can also mean a number of different reason, you just like the quote, it's something you live by, something taught by a relative you care deeply about.

So what is your favorite quote and its meaning??

Me, I am a movie buff. LOVE movies. Some famous lines speak to me whiles others just make me laugh. But, my favorite quote.

"All I have in this world is my word and my balls. I break them for no one" Scarface

Reason: Everyone knows I have a weird mind. But I like this becasue now a days a man's word isn't his bond anymore. For me, I'd like to think mine is. So if I give someone my word. You can bet I will follow through with it.

Close second only cause it cracks me up no matter how many times I hear it:

"Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die"

"Every dog has it's day"

One of my first bosses used to say that and it's very true.

Two:

1. Fly Low And Stay Cool. Originally appeared in Doonesbury and was said to Duke by Zonker when Duke was flying "supplies" at night. But I adopted it into my everyday life to mean; don't draw undue attention to yourself and keep your head.

2. All Good Things In All Good Time. I have to give credit to my buddy DJP for this one. If it isn't his, I don't know whose it is.

Not necessarily my favorite but one that I always recall: "In my heart I know I'm funny." by the late actor Bruno Kirby.

BTW, there is a good thread on this topic:

Wisdom from three centuries:
Anyone who remains calm during all this confusion just doesn't understand the situation. Benjamin Franklin - 18th century

A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds. Ralph Waldo Emerson - 19th century

In all the years you spend between your life and death, you find theres lots of times you should have saved your breath. Ian Kilmister - 20th century

I'm sure someone has said something worthwhile in the 21st century but they haven't said it to me yet.

"Don't know. Mongo only pawn, in game of life"

This is from Blazing Saddles. If you don't know the movie, Mongo is the lackey/goon of the bad guy and does only what he is told. He has the mentality of a four year old. When asked a simple question by the good guy, he spouts out probably the most prophetic line of the whole movie.

Then of course, there is "Abbey Somebody" from another Mel Brooks movie, Young Frankenstein.
When Igor (pronounced Eye-gore) gets the wrong brain for the monster. Dr. Frankenstein asks,
"Who's brain is it?"
Igor replies "Abbey Somebody"
Dr. Frankenstein "Abbey Who?"
Igor "Abbey Normal"
