I just found this photograph yesterday so it is a work-in-progress in the cleanup.* I had a similar picture of this armoured vehicle marked 1922 and this would have been slightly earlier than that.* It's a Rolls Royce MK1 called the 'Scorpion', and this would have been in Ireland.*
![]() I have begun the cleanup but any suggestions on how to remove the BIG stain in the center? Obviously that's got a lot of detail in it that I don't want to lose. |

Maybe you could (in Photoshop)
1. Select the whole stain with color selection tool 2. Expand the selection a bit to ensure you have it all 3. Control J to put it on another layer 4. Fool with adjustment layers till you get it more matching the colors around it. You could try a. Hue Sat Brightness layer, adjust hue or reduce saturation, or reduce saturation of greens b. Color balance to lower the green c. Convert the whole thing to B&W so there is no green and then just use brightness or levels adjustment to make it match d. Maybe even curves adjustment selecting specific colors and reducing that Or you could just select the stain, convert the whole thing to BW, and then use levels adjustments on the stain to get it matching the rest... and then see how it looks and decide what to do next... |

Dad with two dog's, note the white dog (LADY). Believe it's the same one in other photo on hood of truck. My father liked dog's as they were always alert for suspicious noises.
During the war my father was shot in the face, as he and his men(the gang of five) took out a japanese machine gun nest. My father was not only my Dad but he was my hero. It was very hard for him to talk about the war, he was a very quite person. He loved America and fought for our freedom's, that we enjoy today. He did what he had to do and expected nothing in return and in life he was the same way. He regreted leaving the dog's behind when the war was over, sometimes I think he never got over it. As I sit here typing this the tears are rolling down my face as I miss him very much. |
