There is something so moving about old photos.* I could spend hours and days looking at them...and have.*

My great-grandmother, approximately 1895 in Portobello, Edinburgh, Scotland.

This is a great thread. This is my son-in-laws Grandfather on his 1939 Harley-Davidson. Photo is from 1943. Not as old as some here but still interesting.

I put it in a genealogy forum and you'll never guess what I got back! From a "lost branch" of the tree, I have a new picture of my great-grandmother approximately 5 years later holding her son and wearing "widow's weeds" (mourning clothes). A great piece to the jigsaw puzzle!

Here's one I posted in Camel2:

Harry Truman on Mackinac Island, Michigan, in September of 1955 (Long before I was born). I have no idea who the photographer was. Taken with a View-Master Personal Camera on Kodachrome. Not only do I use this camera, but I also collect old personal reels. I obtained it a while back mostly because the set of photos was of a place that I had been before. The person that sold it to me didn't even bother looking at the photographs, so I got it really cheap!

Another photo in the set shows him riding in the carriage with a banner seen in the street saying "Welcome President Truman."

Adjusted for cross-eyed viewing.

This is a photo of my mothers grandfather made in Webster County Ga. The lady in the photo is my fathers grandmother photographed in Cherokee County Ala. Put her in the photo because she looks so stern holding her "good book" and he looks so disgusted. I thought of a title something like "I have been preached to enough"
