I also have an LX3. From what I can tell from goofing around with the F200 for 10 minutes, it will be a great point and shoot. Easy to pocket, good settings with reasonable manual control, etc. So far the pics I've taken have looked pretty good.
The LX3 is great, but just doesn't fit in my pocket. The LX3 will be better for keeping in the briefcase or street stuff, but the F200 will be great for going out ( example videos about Fuji F200EXR Videoclips about Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR Digital Camera ), etc. I have a wedding to attend in May, though, and the LX3 will be with me there. I might bring my Canon 20d with a portrait lens, too. __________________

once fuji starts exporting the exr style sensors to other camera lines, i expect it to find its way into the lower quality bridge cams. fuji has stated that it is not for dsl cameras, so i am not sure if it waill make it to the s100fs replacement.

I think that probably fuji has decided to put her new sensor on the beginning on this compact camera for a more quickly amortize of the costs of the project.
I think the only bridge model that will has this new sensor probably will be the the successor of the Fuji S100fs. Nota: Unfortunately Fuji has left the segment of reflex. ![]() So comparisons of this new sensor with the S5 sensor can not be done. |

The Brown Truck dropped off an F70 EXR this afternoon. Charged the battery, put in a 4GB SDHC card and formatted it. Have been foolin' around with it a little. So far looks pretty good. Looks to be a great pocket camera. I am also interested in the S200 EXR as a replacement for my Panny FZ20. Just have to get it past SWMBO. LOL Would like some first hand feeedback on the S200 EXR. Will try to provide some on the F70 EXR

Thanks for the headsup on the S200 exr review. That sounds like it is pretty well unbiased.
I have not been able to get much done this morinig due to messing around with the new F70 exr. I just posted an image on pbase. Just happened to catch those birds in flight. Cropped and sharpened with highpass filter and soft light blending mode. Considering that it was shot at iso 400, not bad. Just using auto so far.
