Default Question For Kev?

Hey Kev, what do you know about the Sigma 300-800mm lens? I am looking at one, non DG version.

What can you tell me?

I thought I had one cornered on eBay, but some smarter person than me contacted the seller and did a private deal.

Sucks!!!!

its not 30 pounds but 13 pounds. it is a good lens. a 800 f5.6 is nothing to sneeze at. its a great birding lens or a lens to shoot the shuttle. you do need support for it. i have seen pics from both the dg and non dg. the range is what makes this lens useful. the 50-500 is the bigma, the 300-800 has been referred to as the sigmonster.
