Default That 18mm-200mm VR 2 Nikon lens...

Well so I had a chance to see and use in person this lens. A friend of mine bought in a bundle the Nikon D200 + that lens. I didn't do any stresses of the lens as far as chromatic aberrations but so far what I saw that lens seems pretty cool. I also wanted to check how the D200 + that lens felt build/weight wise because I am still eyeing the possibility of getting an S5 + that lens, and that will be my walk around/do everything camera.

I am going to try to find out if the Olympus FL-36 flash I have can work with the S5 Pro, also.

Anyhow, I need to test that lens more but so far it caused a good impression. Focusing is "by wire" but felt fairly accurate. It's a bit bigger/heavier than my Oly 14-54mm lens, but I have to keep in mind the coverage.

While waiting for this lense to come into stock at B&H, the 18-135 (not VR) came in stock and I purchased it. For the money, it's very sharp.

You can probably get it to sync in manual mode, but that'd be about it. Tape the TTL contacts if it won't fire.

There's no real standard for TTL flash, and now it's even less standard with the different ways it's handled when shooting digital. The ISO hotshoe is standard (not used on Minolta/Konica Minolta/ Sony), but the way flash is controlled is not. "i-TTL" is one of Nikon's designations for it's current generation flash technology, also sometimes known as "CLS" (Creative Light System) depending on what marketing feels like calling it at the time.

The SB-800 and -600 are almost always discounted at B&H using the most recent coupon codes.
