Just about to purchace X100, very exited...
Just wondering that how good are the jpg files on this, is there any reason to shoot raw? And what would be a good and free raw converter for the camera, heard rumours that the one on the cd isn't that good.__________________

Ok, thanks, good to know that the jpg's are great, so no need to shoot raw in normal everyday use. Still looking hints for the raw converter just in case I would take some raw shots. Does anyone have experience with the fuji's own (computer) program, is it any good? I read that the raw program in the camera is pretty nice and you can temple with the presets like filters and film types with it, can you do the same editing with the software on the cd rom?

so far the best raw is silkypix, its also the hardest to learn if you are stuck on adobe products.

Got my X-100, which is great btw, and installed the "sillypix". It's pretty ok, atleast you can adjust the lightness and white balance. But it's just way too slow to use and the jpg's are just stunning from the camera, expecially if you take time and set the shooting options to your prefer.
What I really would have liked is a plain and simple program which let you to do the same adjustments to the raw image as the cameras own raw program with your computer. The cameras own raw program is great, but slow to use and you don't see how the different settings effects to the photo before you creat the image. Too bad that there isn't a sofware like this... But hey, important thing is that the camera is really cool and takes absolutely brilliant images, here's the first ones ![]() First ones with Fuji X-100 These are all jpg's straight out of the camera, just litle bit levels adjusted. To those who are interested I found very good shooting settins from Jonathan Fleming blog: Film Sim: Astia Dynamic Range: Auto Color: High Sharpness: Hard Highlight Tone: M-Hard Shadow Tone: M-Hard Noise Reduction: M-Low White Balance: Auto WB Shift: +2 Red, -2 Yellow |

so far support for fuji x cameras has been slow. fuji does some unique things with their sensors that really affect how programs work their files.
