wonder how much an HS30 will cost as it is described as a skimmed down version of the XS1 which is due to be availabe next month for £699. Telephone call to local camera shop - estimate of around £450

I don't know what has spurred the recent change in Fuji over the past few years, but they have really impressed me with the way they have been moving. All of the moves they've made appear to be pretty smart, instead of trying to get into the DSLR market, they are making waves in the emerging mirror-less camera segment with what looks to be some quality kit.
Several people have talked about how the new mirrorless inter-changable lens cameras will take over the market from the entry/consumer level DSLR, and it looks like Fuji is very serious about coming out on top of that market. Kudos to them.

there are 9 more lenses to be announced soon. fuji said once they get past the losses from film, they will resume in the dslr market
