Default Olympus to release an EVF camera at PMA ?

According to letsgodigital, Olympus have put out a bit of a teaser for a new release at PMA in February. The teaser includes a picture of a man crouching to the ground in order to take a photograph, with the tagline "Do you really enjoy making a fool of yourself in public?". Link here.

My (not very original) guess is that they will be releasing an EVF equipped camera, or even some sort of remote controller (wild idea). I woulde if this would be in 4/3rds format though, as the E-500 has only just come out and seems to be selling well. We'll see next month. If they don't at least hint at an E-3 at PMA I will feel quite disappointed with it all...

On one end I am glad Olympus is trying something new & cool- though this could be any other camera- something like the C8080 line. But my real fear for the E-3 is that if it ends up with 15+ megapixels *and* noise + a really out of this Earth price. I hope it's not that expensive... I am certainly not buying otherwise... and I think Nikon really set the line in the sand with the D200.

I hope Oly comes out with some killer stuff. Competition in the digital field is keeping Canon's prices inflated IMO. Some quality stuff from the competitors keeps Canon (and the others as well) on their toes.

Nikon do seem to have released a nice camera, but I'm not one to go running over to another system just yet though. There is no reason why Olympus can't release something like the E-1 with double the resolution, same build quality and similar or slightly better noise levels (I'm mostly happy with the ISO performance). If they can do this, and add some extra killer features such as anti-shake (I feel unlikely), better AF speed (current AF accuracy is excellent but it can hunt in very low-contrast settings), maybe incorporate a portrait grip, then I personally think the camera will be the equal of anything at that level in the market (presuming it'll be pitched at the D200 level).

Hi ....
about Olympus teaser ...

After more days on Internet Forums I developed a personal idea
26 Jan Olympus will present* the E-330 ( the name is in Internet) a reflex similar to E300 but with EVF (Electronic View Finder!? probably with an adjustable display like Nikon coolpix)
A model with advantages of a reflex (interchangeables lens ) and also with advantages of a Compact camera (Electronic View Finder)

Good*
But PMA begin* 26 Feb ?!? Not* 26 Jan !
At PMA* Olympus will introduce the new E - X model ?* *
Or not ?* >

bye*

Possibly... Olympus will announce the E-330 on 26th Jan, that's for sure. I do hope they at least give some strong hints about a possible E-3 at PMA. A deafening silence will cause a lot of upset amongst those looking to upgrade from the E-1.

OK

The E- 330 to upgrade the E 300
The E - X to upgrade the E-1
minimum of 8 mpixels for the entry level model ( E-500)

I think the target in the 4/3 sensor will be a 16 mpixels but
for the next model ( or models also E-330 with new sensor why not)
if the ccd sensor is an evolution of the Kodak sensor and if they decrease of 20% the dimension of the single cell (4.3 micron) each sensor generation
the CCD will be probably a 13.2 mpixels (12.6 Mpixels usable)

......
