I got the 50-200 and the 1.4 at the same time I got my E1, about a year and 1/2 ago.* I have always loved the combo, it just still amazes me how Sharp the combo is.
This was shot at the Fort Worth, Tx zoo yesterday. The only thing that has been done to the image was to re-size it for posting. Again, no sharpening or levels, nothing, right out of the camera. Now this shot was taken at a good shutter speed, 1/640. I was using the monopod the whole day. The second shot was at 1/125th of a second. The third is just one of the shots that I really like, it has been cropped and some USM and a little burning on the eyes. The point is WOW what a great lens. Oh yes, monopod, don't leave home without it. Olympus E-1 1/640s f/7.1 at 283.0mm iso400 ![]() 1/125s f/4.9 at 283.0mm iso200 ![]() 1/160s f/5.6 at 283.0mm iso400 ![]() __________________

I can help with the first part, I could clone it out, but on the second part you are on your own. I will have to work on it... thanks. |

Nie work Bill - very nice considering they're straight off the card. I've been seeing similar qualities with my own 50-200mm - it's a really stunning lens, and would be talked about with reverence if it was produced by either of the 'other two'

Nice shots. I love my 50-200 and have thought about getting the 1.4x (does it adversely affect autofocusing?)
Were you shooting jpeg or raw? If jpeg then in-camera sharpening may have happened. Even with the raw converters some of them apply sharpening by default. And if you downsize with bicubic sharper then I believe that does some sharpening as well. So I think you have to work at it to avoid any sharpening whatsoever. __________________
