You guys in the States are so lucky to have such amazing landscapes on your doorstep (ok - disregarding the fact that you can fly NY to London in less time than NY to LA ). I like the framing on this (though I do find the man made objects slightly distracting). I'd also like to see the colours as I'm sure they're spectacular in the right light.

The shot is very nice and I like the B&W. However, the porta potty and garbage container seem very out of place in the shot and keep it from being a great shot to me. Not sure if cropping would help or hurt the image.

Default I thought for a while about the garbage....

But decided to keep it in. It's part of the shot. It's disturbing, and it says something.

Yep, it would be easy to Photoshop it out, it may say something, like, "it draws my eye away from the center of attention."

RJohnston- do you live in Sedona? If you do or know- does it snow there? I have no idea.

We live 20 miles south of Sedona. It does snow there, but around the city it does not last long. On top of some of the Monuments, especially on the North side it remains longer.

Great landscape, would love to see it in color though.

You had editing checked OK, so thought Id show another version of your Sedona.

Loaded into Photoshop, using Image, Layer, Levels, adjusted the meditum tones to one which pleased me. Using the Blur tool, softened the clouds a bit. Then using it with Lighten menu, lightened the blackest portions, and Darken burned in the highlight a little.
