Default Lens adapter

I have an opportunity to pick up several Yashica/Contax lenses for a bargain price. Has anyone used a Y/C to 4/3 adapter? I'm aware you lose the automatic features and have to manually focus and set the aperture but I know from the past that some of these are fine lenses (primes).

You should be able to pick up one of those quite easily sidebyte. Roxen on ebay often sell these - e.g.

Contax Lens to Olympus for E400 E500 E330 E510 Adapter on eBay, Lens Mounts Adaptors, Camera Lenses, Photography (item 180151537533 end time 28-Aug-07 21:00:00 BST)

Using old lenses on the E is good fun. When I first got my E-1 all I had were OM Zuiko lenses and it makes for a nice diversion. I found that they weren't up to today's quality though, even when comparing OM Zuiko primes to the current ZD zooms.

Roxsen adapters are fine. I have one to let me use OM lenses on a Canon 5D and it works perfectly. I opted for the official Olympus adapter for the E-1, and it is a cut above in engineering terms (as well as cost) but in the end they both did the job.

I got one for my E-500 so I can use my OM lenses. It works but I loose alot of resolution and quality.
