Hats off to Olympus EU

I purchased an E-3 in early July and sent off the relevant paperwork to take advantage of the free FL-50R flash offer. Several weeks later no flash had materialised so I checked with Olympus EU to see if my E-3 registration details had been received and were in order. Olympus confirmed that they had received the registration details in early July and that the flash had been dispatched to me a few days later and according to the records of the carrier (DHL) had been delivered to me on 24th July
To cut a long story short - nearly a month after the flash had supposedly been delivered to me I had not received it. DHL were not very helpful and told me that I would have to ask the sender (Olympus EU) to make investigations/claim on my behalf. Well Olympus EU (particularly André Kellerberg - thanks André) were more than helpful - with André's help it was discovered that DHL had left the flash at an unknown address close to mine and it had been signed for by someone who could not be traced
Once Olympus EU were satisfied that I was not trying to pull a fast one André advised me that to speed things up they would send me a replacement flash immediately while they pursue the claim against DHL
I'm very very happy to say that the replacement flash arrived today - well done Olympus EU and thanks again to André
