I was downloading the 2.5 version and my firewall blocked and asked for permission to download Bootstrapper (it was an .exe file). I didn't know anything about this, didn't read anything about it in the read me file, called Oly support and they didn't know anything about it, so blocked it. The download went okay. But, since then did a google on Bootstrapper and it appears to be a legitimate part of programming and may have something to do with the camera firmware update, regarding legacy lenses on the dslr. Will I need to uninstall the software, reinstall and then again update, this time allowing Bootstrapper? I am now hesitant to run the camera firmware update through the master software. Any information/recommendations/suggestions on this? Thanks -Ken

If you didn't say "yes" the first time, download again, this time allow it to be downloaded. If this doesn't download properly, I think you just won't be able to update the firmware of your camera.
I would download again to be sure allowing the bootstraper.exe now that you know it's part of the package... though I thought that was embedded in their executable-installer and not as a single file you download? - Raist |

For an explanation see below. A Bootstrapper is often needed when updating the firmware on cellphones, cameras, etc..

Thanks for the information....it wouldn't let me download again, said I had the most current version. So, I uninstalled and reinstalled and this time allowed....that worked fine. Live and learn.....
