Yes, e-410, not e-420.
Here's an example of when you DO NOT want a lot of DR- I wanted that background to go dark and it did. The background was in normal daylight, but the sun was hitting the cat directly creating a high contrast situation. The "bloom" you are seeing is not a post processing effect, nor is it a lens or sensor defect- it happens as the result of blowing out the highlights combined with the short depth of field. Those highlights were quite recoverable in LightZone from RAW but decided to let them blow for effect. I shot in RAW+JPEG. Started trying to recover the highlights in LightZone, which I did but then it didn't look as I wanted. Ironically the JPEG out of the camera looked almost final, but since I was already in LightZone, decided to use the raw. As always, comments & critique welcome. This is an F1.4 shot, and a big one too: ![]() For the curious, the highlight & shadow recovery (highlight shot shown at 100% magnification): ![]() Shadow - the thing on the left side is a cat scratch post (some minor banding visible): ![]() - Raist __________________
